Canna Red Stripe

Red Stripe is a tall-growing canna reaching over 2 metres in ideal conditions. Its main attraction is its large, broad, translucent, avocado-coloured leaves with brilliantly contrasting deep, purple-red edging and midribs that look spectacular when backlit in the autumn light. Image here shows it growing under a pergola below a glory vine in late autumn. This canna has fairly small insignificant red flowers and dark burgundy stems.
